I am Dr. D. Monique, a Licensed Therapist specializing in psychotherapy for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, problems coping with trauma, relationship issues, and general life stressors. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. I have an extensive career in counseling and draw from over 20 years of experience successfully guiding clients through rough and distressing emotional times.
My approach to therapy is eclectic in that I incorporate various treatment modalities (brief therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy) so that each client reaches their desired goals. Therapy sessions are personalized to address each client's strengths, needs, and goals. We will work together to identify your individual needs and develop a collaborative plan that will help you reach your greatest potential. It is my belief that individuals already possess the skills necessary to create change in their lives, but often need help identifying and developing those skills.
As a therapist, I encourage clients to imagine the future they desire and then work collaboratively to develop a series of steps that will help them achieve those goals. This may involve changing thoughts, habits and emotional patterns that no longer serve the client, while cultivating self-compassion and acceptance for those things that cannot be changed.
